                  My Work

Sometimes it is hard to find the words, or words are not enough. This is when the body provides the means for one to explore. Our mind and body are deeply connected with one another and therefore, working with verbal and non-verbal media supports and encourages the integration of the mind, body, and soul.

Movement psychotherapy finds a way of enabling both past and present experiences to be explored through creative expression, engaging both mind and body.

You don’t have to be a dancer or feel that you have rhythm to access this form of therapy. Movement psychotherapy is made accessible to everyone, of any ability and at any life stage. You just need to have the want or willingness to try, and as a therapist I will work in a way that supports your needs. We can find a way together to find what is right and comfortable for you.

Although the foundation of my practice is working with the body, I understand that for many people, connecting with their somatic experiences can be extremely challenging; which is quite possibly the reason for their choice to come to therapy in the beginning. I respect that everyone has their own unique journey to follow, and that they need to go at their own pace. I don't believe that the therapy space/session should look a particular way, but is something that is created through the relationship between therapist and client. It is not something that is static, but is an organic process that is continually evolving.

I am a Humanistic Integrative therapist, my sessions offer a combination of approaches and  both verbal and non-verbal tools to fit the individuals needs. However, I do also offer dance Movement Psychotherapy sessions and Therapeutic Sandplay sessions separately if one wishes to access a particular modality.
